Trista and Jon ::: Sedona Wedding Photographer

065 Oakley Blog

A few weeks ago I traveled to Sedona with my good friend, and second shooter – to photograph a beautiful wedding at Los Abrigados Resort and Spa.  I love this venue!  And I love this couple!  Trista and Jon are great together.  After we had our engagement session this past winter, I was even more excited for their spring wedding.  Trista and Jon are easy-going, fun, and so in love.  My fave combo :)

It was really hard to choose my favorite images for this blog post.  I have over 100 images to share, so please, keep scrolling till the end :)

Enjoy!

Nicole is Three ::: Mesa Portrait Photographer

060 Nicole 3 Years Blog

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there!  This blog is kinda special for a few reasons.  One, I am trying out a new way to watermark my images for my blog – with borders.  Let me know what you think :)

This blog is also special because this little girl is one of the very first newborns I ever photographed – and now she’s 3!  I can’t believe it!

Nicole is into makeup now, and looking pretty – but she also loves getting a little dirty.  She was very excited about pulling up the grass and picking up big handfuls of dirt during our shoot.  The ladybugs caught her attention too!  There were so many ladybugs in our little field, I couldn’t believe it!

Since Nicole loves makeup right now, her mom thought it would be fun to do a styled shoot to show off her interest.  I love styled shoots!  So, we put together a rustic, flower-filled, makeup session for Nicole’s 3 year shoot.

I had a hard time picking faves, there are a lot – so I did a bunch of collages to help keep the length of this post to a minimum :)

Enjoy!

Mariah’s Senior Portraits ::: Mesa Senior Portrait Photographer

034 Mariah Gresko Senior Web

As soon as I met Mariah, I knew this shoot was going to be fun!  This girl is beyond gorgeous!  Smart, artistic and genuine – what a combo.

During our consultation we were discussing all of Mariah’s interests, and she mentioned she was a pianist.  My bright idea lightbulb went off in my mind as I imagined an old abandoned piano in the middle of nature for her senior portraits.  Of course, I blurted this idea out loud, and then quickly laughed and joked that pianos are entirely too heavy for us to get out into the middle of nowhere.  We couldn’t possibly have a real piano in our session.  Mariah and her mom agreed that it would be awesome, but highly unlikely.

During my solo brainstorming after our meeting I couldn’t get the piano idea out of my head.  I couldn’t stop thinking to myself “this girl has been playing her whole life – she *needs* a piano in her shoot!”.  So, I started pouring through Craigslist.  I spent days searching for old pianos, and how to transport pianos, but I was not pleased.  When I was just about to give up the search, I came across the perfect ad.  It literally could not have been any better. It was old, it was beat up, broken keys and disastrously beautiful!  And it was free!  Immediately I contacted Mariah’s mom to coordinate our shoot.  We had a piano!

I have to say though, it would not have been possible without the help of Mariah’s family!  Her dad picked the piano up on the morning of our shoot, brought it to our location, and unloaded it.  That is one great dad!

With a beautiful girl, a great location and a beat up piano – I had a really hard time choosing my favorite images of this shoot.  You’ll see what I mean :) enjoy!

Dianna and Ryan ::: Tempe Engagement Photographer

Hellooo blog world.  I have been sooo behind on blogging!  I have had so many lovely sessions since the Holiday season, and I will get caught up on blogging them all soon.  But, to kick things off, here’s my most recent engagement session of the adorable Dianna and Ryan!

018 Dianna and Ryan Blog Web

Dianna and Ryan are perfect together.  We had so much fun during their session.  We probably laughed the *entire* time!  When Dianna and I were discussing their engagement session I asked her to give me an example of something fun they did together a lot.  Some couples are into coffee, some are into hiking, some are into music – Dianna and Ryan are into Yogurtland!  So, we started off their session at Yogurtland in Tempe.

I love shooting portraits that are interactive, where my clients are engaging with each other – not my camera.  It’s so much fun to capture how a couple or a family interacts with one another!  Look at this series of images!  I melt!  They are so cute together!

From Yogurtland we took our session to Mill Avenue.  We wandered through the crowds looking for good light, laughing hysterically, and snapping some shots along the way.

021 Dianna and Ryan Blog WebWhile we were wandering about I asked them how they met.  Oddly enough, they met on Mill Avenue!  At a bar that no longer exists, but the building does!  So, we had to capture a shot with the building where they first met.  Aw!  I love when sessions work out like that :)

Claire’s 1 Year ::: Mesa Family Photographer

Little Claire Bear turned 1 in July, but her family decided to combine her 1 year session and their family session a little later in the year.  We chose to do their session at a beautiful field I recently discovered.  It has become one of my favorite spots to shoot.  I loved the green and black outfits Claire’s mom put together for the family.  They were coordinating, but not matching… which is perfect for family photos!

She also found a beautiful teal tutu for Claire’s cake smash, and I had a teal ombre cake made to match.

This session was so much fun – as usual, this family was a joy to photograph.  Much love to Claire and her family!

Drew is 9 Months ::: Scottsdale Children’s Photographer

Drew’s first year is flying by!  I can’t believe it.  Drew and his family have been so much fun to work with over the past 9 months.  Every shoot has been fantastic.  And this family is gorgeous, so it’s way too easy to capture beautiful photos ;-)

During this session we were able to grab a few shots of Drew and his mom, and I gotta say – they are just adorable!  I probably could have shot them for hours.  I loved how all he wanted to do was hug his mom, and he was completely content just in her arms.  So sweet.

This session was so hard to narrow down, I probably could have blogged every shot!  Enjoy :)

Look at those eye lashes!!!
